Hey just wondering if anyone might have any suggestions on how to repair my dash. My airbag went off in an accident and when that happened it bent this structure that supports the air bag. This caused the dash to bend slightly and now the vent doesn't line up correctly. In addition to this, it created a crack in my dash that i need to repair. I dont want to buy a whole new dash just because of a small crack. So would anyone know the best way to repair this crack and the structure supporting it? One more thing, i got a airbag cover to replace the airbag and I need to install it with some form of adhesive. I was planning on using silicone, is there something else that i should use? Thanks for the help, here are pics.

Just had to gradually bend the frame as close to straight as possible. The section which was slightly flexed before, is now as close to perfect as it will get. Love your car, I can't find many people with the same front bumper. I was looking at your pics of the project and looks like you went threw some of the same stages. Right now my car is all primered up and has been that way for way to long. Its getting painted within the next 2-3 weeks after I finish the body work. The car is currently black but Its going to get painted BMW Carbon Black. My friend works for BMW and the paint supplies will only cost me $280 if I get it threw them. The Carbon Black appears black almost at all times then under direct sunlight the blue metallic glows so nice.

A tip for the air bag cover, get some velcro-the heavy duty stuff. You should do that because since there is no air bag there you can put stuff behind it, I plan on moving my ignition stuff there when I do a complete overhaul on my interior. I bought a cover from Florida 5.0about 4-5yrs ago, it came with some stick on velcro strips. Do that and you wont regret it should you ever have to get into your dash. Dont screw yourself and seal that area off. As for the dash repair... someone suggested silicon, a good sand down and some paint but the sanding will rub down that area and interrupt the texture on your dash so that idea could be hit or miss. If you go for it use some extra extra extra fine sand paper spend the extra time with the fine so you reduce the smoothed areas or you could go a different route and sand the whole dash down to make it all look even, then paint it. You can get the paint from 50resto. I painted my air bags (black) and they came out great- they look stock. any qs pm me,

oh and just to add to this conversation, will you get screwed if you remove the airbag and your passanger gets hurt? I seem to think that the insurance company or your passanger will burn you should another accident occure.
I ask because I am going to remove my bags but thats on hold until I get a cage corbeau seats and serious seat belts.
