He's got a 5.0 with H/C/I, stock lower end, and a vortech at like 10 or 12 lbs. The trick with water injection is timing. You have to really feed the car timing to take advantage of it. That's what it's for.
He's running 32º of total timing and makes like 498 rwhp with no detonation and no issues on a stock lower end.
I have the 100 PSI kit from snowperformance. One issue was the hose from the tank leaked at the tank. The shop used clamps and better quality hose. Timing is set at 14 degrees. The car made 15 back to back dyno pulls with no pinging or loss of power/torque. The timing was raised to 16, still no ping. The instruction are to raise in 2 degree steps until ping, then reduce by 2 degrees. We didn’t do that, because I only wanted the injection for protection of ping (detonation). So until I get the engine forged it is used only as a backup. If the pump should fail, then the engine wouldn’t be damaged. I’m sure for those who want every ounce of power there is power to be made with it. I kept the timing at 14 degrees. I'm using 50/50 of water and alcohol [the rubbing type not drinking ]
