Well I entered in the sportsman class for the local drag racing season. Looks like 8 race weekends from May to October, best 6 count for points. I've usually just gone to the Friday night fun nights but this year I wanted to be a little more serious. I put together a sponsorship proposal and am looking for $6000. That's about what it will cost me for a Kenne Bell :D . It looks pretty promising. I'm hitting up a bunch of my vendors, no pressure of course  . My own company is looking to throw in a couple grand too. I think I can raise the cash easy. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this and how successful it was. I'm actually looking forward to running the full season and going for event wins and a championship. I'm aslo expecting to break something, badly :( . 5 more weeks til our season opener test and tune, May 6,7,8, and the first points race is the next weekend, May 12,13,14 I believe.

Hey, that's pretty cool!! The local Suzuki dealer sponsors my race bike, which is a major help. I never approached them about it, they just offered. I had 6 sponsors a few years ago when I was more into it, but now that I just dabble a bit, I don't need much help.
Good luck :nice:

Sweet! That's even better when you don't need to go to them. I hope it works out. I'll see what happens I guess. Anythings better than nothing.

I have a couple friends with sponsorships and it certainly pays off. It all depends on your proposal and if they'd like to see more exposure.

Good luck :nice:

Everything seems to be going really well so far. I have four confirmed sponsors but unconfirmed dollar figures. All have the potential to be very lucrative, I could see as much as $10,000 right now but I'm not holding my breath. If I get $4,000-$5,000 I'll be really happy. Like I say I have commitments from four sponsors right now but money talks and bullchit walks. I still have about ten more places to approach so I'm off to a good start.

The only problem with getting sponsors is that at the end of the season you will have to sell your car and divide the profit up amongst the sponsors and then if there's any money left it's yours:(

:rlaugh: Kidding!!
Way to go!!! That's Awesome!!! :nice:
