I bought an aluminum one from summit, but Im not sure how I need to install it. It has a straight connection on one end and a connection w/valve on the other. The stock tank has the tube running to the bottom of the tank, so which end goes up on the summit one? Also, any suggestions where to mount it? Here's a pic, it looks better in person tho.

I got a quick question related to this..

My plastic stock overflow tank is cracked and leaks slowly... obviously getting a new one would fix this. But isnt there some sort of sensor on or near the bottom of the tank that needs to be switched over?

Reason I ask.. when my overflow gets slow on water.. the Low Coolant light flips on. Fill it up, dash light goes off.

one hose runs from the nipple on the rad by the cap (should have one if its an aftermarket rad) to the top of the catch can.......then another hose goes from the bottom of the catch to the ground so that when there's excess fluid in the can, you can dump it into a coffe can or somethin by way of the valve on the bottom to teh catch can :D

The sensor is in the res cap or connected to it. Its the long thing that comes out when you pop the whole cap off

EDIT: also if you don't want to spend the money on a new one put some silicone on that thing where its cracked. Guy that had my car before me screwed mine up and did that and it works fine now

WIth the hose run to the top, coolant will not recycle -- it will only act as an overflow. With it run to the bottom coolant will enter AND exit the can as needed to keep the radiator full. :nice:

Thanks for the help guys, that's what I was thinking. :nice: Should I leave the valve on the top cracked to allow air in and out?

Oink or Mrgreen94gt, got any pics of how it's mounted?
