anybody know what this trouble code means?

evap emissisions have nothing to do with exhaust, the evap system is for fumes in the tank

fumes are stored in the charcoal canister, then purged into the intake to be burned off

what was the code?

oh cool :) i think i know what it was then. it was probably cuz my new tranny pan was leaking a little cuz i didnt have it bolted on tight enough making some burning tranny fluid fumes. ya think that was it? i forgot exactly what code it was. and i cleared it out and i cant get it back. it just said evaporate emissions (small leak) or something like that.

the evap is a closed system so fumes from the trans won't effect it

you have a small leak somewhere in the evap system. no big deal but if it throws it again (it probably will) you won't pass emissions and you'll need to get it checked out.

nope, wasn't the fuel system cleaner (must've been some STRONG ass cleaner to burn a hole in the evap lines)

the evap system lines just carry fumes, not fuel. it's just a small leak, pretty normal
what year is your car?

Is the check engine light on now? If not, was there ever a time where you may not have tightened the gas cap all the way (which made the check engine light come on), but screwing it on right made the light go away? I believe that would register as an Evap leak, and unless you erased the code before, it will still be stored, even if the light went away.

Hopefully it may have just been the gas cap at some point. Evap leaks are a PITA to find. Basically its just checking the entire system for a VAPOR leak that is probably so small you wont even smell it, and you wont see it. But you will fail emissions, thats the part that sucks.
