Hey Im Having Some Problems With My 93 Stang. I Work At A Body Shop And My Car Was There While I Got It Ready To Paint For About A Month. I Had Advanced The Timing In The Spring And Was Running 94 Oct Gas Ran Pretty Good. Well I Put A Little Bit Of Crapy Gas In It Jjust To Move It Around At The Shop. Now I Have A Bad Mis And It Wont Rev. You Put It On The Floor It Wont Go Past 4k And It Cracks And Pops. Could This Be From Bad Gas With To Much Timing? Or Maybe A Vacum Leak? I Also Added A Cold Air Kit. Thats When I Noticed It. I Retarded The Timing To See If This Help. Help Guys Please. Thanks Alot Jason

Did you make sure your MAF sensor is plugged in? Make sure your air hoses are connected after the MAF.

Its a possibility, if your getting unmetered air in the engine it will run like crap.
Also, and this is less likely but hows your fuel pressure? A bad pump can cause symptoms like you described.

checking FP, checkin vac, and rechecking what you messed with sounds good.
also with the CAI, if its an oiled filter, make sure no oil got on the MAF wire (gets taken upstream to the MAF wire if a lot of oil is used).
use electrical cleaner to clean it (dont touch the wire).
good luck.

I hope by crappy gas you dont mean very old, or rusty can, and or moisture laden stuff. Cleaning out a gas tank is not fun and oh yes make sure your gas filter is new too!
