I went with the 4.10's but now I can't find a speedo gear that will work. The only thing I can find is a 23 tooth that is made for 3.55's. I'd need more like a 25 or 26th tooth to make up for the 4.10/auto combination. Anyone seen this or know how to get around it? There is no computer recalibration on the 94, its all in the gears.

Even the 23 tooth has such small teeth that they tend to break quickly, if a 25 or 26 tooth gear existed, it would be useless. The speedcal does work on 5-speeds, but I think you may be right that it won't work on autos in 94/95. Our speedos ARE electronic, though... so it's not all in the gears :-). Someone who's tried the speedcal with an AODE can jump in and answer the question positively.

I was browsing Central Florida Motorsports website and found this.
This SpeedCal corrects speedometer readings on 1994 and up Mustangs when the rear end gear or tire size has been changed. A great fix with quick, simple installation on all 1994 and up 5 speed equipped Mustangs and 1994-98 automatic equipped Mustangs. WILL NOT WORK ON '99-03 MUSTANGS WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS!
BTW, it's about 90 bucks there. www.c-f-m.com

dont bother trying to find a gear with that many teeth. even if you find one, it wouldnt last. the teeth are too small. they would get cleaned off. you would be best off with a gear reduction box of somekind or the speedcal like teal gt said. about 90 bucks is what they generally go for anywhere.

I have a 25 tooth I've been using since 1998. Haven't stripped any gears. Its a Chrysler (AMC) part #J3167393

Total parts cost in 1998....$1.84
The look on the parts guy's face when I told him it was going into a Mustang... PRICELESS!!!

As a member of many forums I really hate to bring this back to the top, but I need to correct some bad information. I purchased the part above and it's nothing but a 23 tooth gear. I'm only adding this post so that others may not be duped.

You let that poor man run around with all those grinding noises for 14 years. :nonono:
