I just bought some 18x9/18x10 bulletts and im stuck on what tires to get. I either want 335 Nittos or 315 Falkens. Does anyone know from experience if 335s will fit without any rubbing or modifications? I'm assuming theyre pretty much the same size because Nittos run small.

(p.s. theres a guy on SVTPerformance with a 95 cobra running 315s with no problem so I know that i can go at least 315s)

Any advice and/or pics would be great!

I think 335s are too wide for a 10 inch wheel. The biggest I've seen on a 18x10 is 315 and depending on the brand of tire sometimes that's a stretch.

Also, I have heard the sn-95s wheel wells aren't as deep as the New Edge cars. I believe some people on here have ' gently ' hammered in the right spots and they no longer rub. Flipping the quads also helps but if you don't have U/LCAs I would get some and ditch the quads....good luck

I run 315 nittos on a 10.5" wide wheel on my car with absolutely no needed modifications.

Same.

Ive seen someone on SN95 forums w/ 335's on 10.5 wheels, but never 10. He had to flip the quads, roll the fenders, and beat some of the inside.

Nittos are wider than other tires, in my experience. I have (2) 245/40/18s NT555's on a 18x9 wheel on my 68 and it fits much, much wider as compared to the other 2 tires (245/40/18 Nankangs).

Any reason you want to go wider than a 315? That's a ton of tire... and wouldn't seem practical to me to go any wider than that.

FWIW, the three sets of Nittos I've deal with have all ended up being narrower than an "identically" sized tire from another brand.

Eric - weren't you saying your Nitto 315's were narrower than the Sumitomo's?

Whats the best fitting size with 315's? 315/35 or 315/30?

335 way too wide for a 10" wheel. Ideal size for a 315 is 11" but you can go down to a 10.5" like paul said. I would say 295 or maybe 305 for a 10" wheel. Especially with the tiny sidewall of an 18" wheel/ tire combo.

Nitto's run narrow, not wide.. I will switch from 315's to 335's next go around, but have to remove the quads and either go dumps or side exhaust like I have...Right now i'm running 315/30/18 falken azenis rt615's with ABSOLUTELY NO MODIFICATIONS AND ZERO RUBBING WHATSOEVER...

315 VS. 285

315 VS 265

You might be talking about me actually, I'm BLOWN_BY_You over there.....
The falkens hook pretty damn well through the corners.. They are NOT by any means a rain tire though.... I will gurantee you the 335 nittos fit if you remove the quads and roll the lips.. There is a guy with an sn95 running michelin pilot sport 335's on svtp which are FAR wider than nittos, but he had to run dumps.. I have side exhaust now, so 335 pilots are my next step...

Ya i was talking about you. Your the reason I started thinking about running 335s. The thing is, ive seen ppl running 315 nittos on stock 9 inch 04 cobra wheels.... so why wouldnt 335s nittos fit on a 10in? Seems like they should.

Do you know whats involved in rolling the lips? Is it difficult/expensive? I will most likely be ordering some 335s soon.

If you dont know how to roll renders Id take it to a shop, cause you can royally **** up your paint.

I think www.tirerack.com has a good how to on it though. Check them out.

EDIT: Here is the walkthrough, I saw the tool on tirerack, but some people use a baseball bat.

I used a cutoff wheel and cut the lip into about 1 inch sections and beat i up with a hammer.. you can see where it's rolled from the pics above... Most autox chapters have access to one of the professional tools...

There is picture of a fender roller, no price yet cause site is currently updating. I'm not saying you should buy that roller, just giving you idea what right tool is for that.
Hey Turbogt! Can you post up some pics of that fender job? I gotta do mine cheap way
