Anybody using the 3.8L Taurus electric fan??

I got one but havent put it on yet. Post some pics up on how u mounted it with the coolant overflow, and im curious how many people on here has one. and how many relays everybody uses, 2 30amps or one 75 amp...Post em up! :SNSign: ...BTW I have two and one is for sale if anyone is looking for one.

I run it with the DC controler...couldn't ask for a better setup.

Mark Viii fan (similar to the Taurus fan)

DCC controller [FK35] in front of the battery

Stock overflow mounted in the stock location (radiator-style zippy ties attach it to the fan shroud)

Yes... the fan in question is for lack of a better term, the ****zle

How much is the DC controller?

I really wanna run an electric fan, with dc controller but I HATE WIRES!! i hate dealing with electrical stuff

It's pretty straight forward to wire up the DCC...

12V ties into the battery terminal

Ground ties into the battery terminal

12IGN ties into the low coolant sensor on your overflow bottle or aftermarket IGN box

Then wire up the fan...

The controller is around $100.00. That sounds steep, but the product is bullet proof and reliable as a rock indicating the weather.

Here's mine. I also run a DC Controller with it and it cools perfectly. Mine's mounted to the radiator with radiator zip ties, regular zip ties, and the overflow with zip ties.. call it rigged, but it works perfect.

If you have a battery relocation done where do you tie into for the power? I think im going to be ordering up a dcc controller but I wasnt sure about that.

DCC sells a surge protector so that you can mount your controller power wire to the starter solenoid on the driver inner fender in the event that your battery is located in the trunk of your ride

Under no circumstance, should you hook up a DCC directly to the solenoid as it will cause a failure without that surge protector.

Few picks for some mounting ideas...first fan mocked up on old rad, used aluminum straps to mount to the taurus shroud an top/bottom rails of the rad...

Here are a few of the fan mounted to the stock shroud and in position.

Stock gauge? I would'nt be so sure the temps are as stable as you might think, I won't even tell you what my stocker vs. Autometer variation was...you might not like to hear it.

oh it works cuz when i forget to turn it on it boils like water for mac and cheese... when i run it, it just stays so cool under the Hood!

OH MY...you have to realize what you're doing to the internals of that engine when you "boil over"...I'd be surprised if the headgaskets have not been comprimised, seriously that is a major issue that will destroy an engine without question.

i only drove 2miles to car show it was boiling out of the resevoir for about 2 min i let the fan run to cool it off... hasnt leaked any anty frez yet so i think its gonna be alright man.. it was only one time take it easy!

These cars can cause more headaches...more frustration and draw more blood, tears, and sweat than damn near any other car you will ever deal with. You haven't been here long, but you'll find aside from all the sarcasm and smart ass/ criticism, that there's several people who've already made the mistakes and paid the price for them and always try to make others aware of things you may not of had the displeasure of experiencing.
