I am not going to replace the transmission yet but I want to do the modifications to the floor pan now as I am replacing it now. What did you guys do to the floorpans to modify them? Where did you add metal and how much? General descriptions are fine, Im not looking for anything too specific but i don't want to have to modify the floorpans again after i build them and weld them in. Thanks

That goes for all of us.

As for the T56, I understand that the later cars 69/70 don't need any tunnel mods, wheras the 64/65's definately need mods.

would you happen to know the mods on the t56 in a 65 because that is what I am looking at right now. If no one has any ideas, ill just leave some extra room and hope the tranny will fit.

adding a T-5 is a completely diffrent animal rha a T-56 (and a lot cheaper) For a T-56, you'll need to raise the tranny tunnel, I dont know how much.

The seats came from Ebay and there was very little fab work to get them bolted down. Do a search and you'll be suprised at the options. These things hold you in great.....Now if I could just get it back on the road...

There used to be someone here that had a T56 in a 65 or 66, it was black. I can't remember his name. Is it GP001 or something like that? GP006 maybe? Oh, it might have been a richmond 6 speed, but you might see if you can look him up.

thanks guys, I just went today and got a 5 by 10 sheet of 18 ga for the pans and another 24 foot length of 2 by 3 by 14ga rectangle tube to finish building the frame today. Ill post some pics when i have the pans and frame done in a couple weeks (im in school and rarely have time to get anything done). I have a buddy coming home from school in a couple weeks to help me get the pans built. Im crossing my fingers, I havent done much sheetmetal work in the past but i just got the tools to do it so this will be interesting. Ive decided to just leave the transmission hump extra big and hope that everything works out. If there is a problem, ill mod it later. Thanks again for the help
