The title says it all. I have heard several people express hesitation (due to the rings) about putting any form of unnatural aspiration on these. There have got to be a hundred or so boosted 05's running around. Many putting down overf 450 rwhp. Any Kaboooooms so far?

Who is running boost and has over a thousand miles boosted?

Who has made more than 10 passes boosted?

I know it's a little early, but have there yet been any EXTERNAL COMBUSTION engines???

Eric,
Nice to see another "Classics" member roaming the 05 section.

Here is a link that you may find interesting.

those guys know every detail about everything.....they look into the issues a little more indepth than around here....

They know tons of info.. but not much on 05 mustangs.. there are many boosted 05s out there and I hit forumes and nothing about blow engines.. I heard a clutch needs to be replaced when getting to 500hp.. but thats a no brainer.. I have a ait and I'm boosting and so far no issues.. I believe if its 420-450 rwhp things will be fine.... with a good tune.. I'll let other guess and say it wont work while I blow past people on the roads ;-)

Did you read the same thread? The guy starting the thread was tearing down a 3v to see what it could handle and several other poster actually work for Ford engineering (and some directly on the Mustang project). Sees like they had very specific info, especially given the date of te thread (Oct 04).

Let's just hope that statement doesnt turn out to have a dual meaning

maybe he should have spent less time tearing apart the engin and try to put on a SC and run some test to really find out if it can boost.. ;-) since the post is a little old, then by now he must have seen he is mistaken.. maybe I should join that site and to a follow up =0)~

btw:.. I think there is a higher chance of me wrapping this car around a tree before the engin goes.. haha.

Well, if you knew much about that site you would know that the poster has lots of experience building boosted machines. Even the guys in the know (racing SC'd 05s) are saying they are unsure of the 3v's ability to handle it.

I hope it can, because it would really keep the mustang selling well and help boost (no pun intended) the aftermarket (in all areas) for the new platform.

But I think I'll stick to my plan of building a stout na motor with new internals

I haven't heard of one blown up motor since the seama show when they were running superchargers without a tune. Not one,and I browse most mustang sites regularly. I think we won't see any till people start changing out pulleys from the base kits.

yea, i think i actually will wait till the spring to boost mine ... if no blow ups by then, maybe the first round of kits are relatively safe or better yet, the 05 mustang is very strong...

They have been blown. All the shops that build them up don't usually like to state all over the internet that they've blown engines. I know of at least 3 that have gone. 2 on the juice, 1 on boost. I don't know the what horsepower they were at, but it was not extreme. These engines aren't as bad as first thought, but they sure aren't an 03/03 cobra block either.

I'm not going to name names, but a local tuner I know blew one up on the 2nd dyno pull with a s/c. 1st pull was around 450rwhp

Yea I'm not going to name names either. It was in no way the peoples fault that they blew them up, they were just testing limits of these engines.

Thank god I didn't order the procharger kit yet :nice:

you're right, you ordered the blowcharger kit from ur boyfriend

What exactly is the point of this antagonism. I've only seen a couple of your posts, but you appear to be on for no other reason but to harass people. The man was simply happy he hadn't invested in an after market kit which MIGHT and MIGHT NOT harm his engine. Seems reasonable.
