Anyone brake their clutch cable over and over and over and.....

I have the adjustable clutch cable and the cable has broken 4 times in the last year!!! Anyone else having problems or heard of anyone having problems with this?? I've had mechanics look it over, different shops install it, bought different brands... no luck.

Is there a SUPER heavy duty clutch cable I can order. I feel like I can be stranded at any moment... Not a good feeling...

I read(old stangnet reviews) that the steeda, and the upr ones where not that good that they switched to the ford racing one and where much happier.

The best clutch cable is the stock Ford one. The aftermarket ones suck, period. Especially the so-called adjustable ones -- just get a firewall adjuster, it works better anyway.

well said. a lot of issues come from misalignment of the cable from the quadrant to the firewall. also, if you have a bad engine ground, and juice needs a ground (remembering juice flows from ground to positive), clutch and accelerator cables can be recruited as grounds. this shortens their life (does not sound like the case here - just info).

some have had real good luck with the FRPP adjustable cable. i would go with the oem cable and FWA, myself however. good luck.

I had already purchaced the Granatelli Motorsports one last night and the mechanic is already putting it in.

I'll get the Ford Racing cable. Does FRPP also make and adjustable quadrant.

Hairy Canary, they said the original cable doesn't work with the adjustable quadrant.

Krahkin, I'm sure what a pedal stop is and what it would do to prevent breakage.

i have gone through about 3 cables in the past 4 months (1 last about 20 minutes of driving). i said screw that and went to M/M and got a ford replacement. i have a 2 hook quadrant from steeda and a firewall adjuster and it works out just fine. $60 and i was done with it. check the ground as said cause that causes damage and also the routing (my first mistake when i replaced it due to a weird angle).

what's a good place to buy the FRPP cable and quadrant, and how much is it? I just baught the BBK adjustible cable kit, haven't received it yet, but now wonder whether i should cancel the order and get a different one. Has anyone tried the BBK unit?
