Anyone changed 65 warning lights to gauges ?

Hey Dave,
You're going to need to change the complete under the dash wiring harness and under the hood harness! Alt harness, engine feed harness! Thats just the wiring, a lot of time and money! Just add aftermarket gauges, its a lot easier and cheaper! When I spoke to you on the phone, you said that you where going to do a resto-mod, I'd do the aftermarket gauges! :bang:

ok, u dont need all new harnesses unless you care that you will have to hack up your original a bit, actually you wont even have to do that if you buy the right connectors.. just keep the alternator light connected and tape it up out of the way behind there... you will need to add the oil pressure extension from the engine block then add the pressure sender. i converted to autometer gauges so i used all of there electric senders. i used the factory wiring for all of it. just get a wiring diagram with color codes and be prepared to spend some time getting it all right. i also converted to a volt gauge and not an ammeter, hence leaving the alt light connected. its very straightforward, ive done this on my 65 and my 84... attached is a picture detailing how my finished product looks.

oh yeah, i also did the electric speedometer with the digital odometer, all u need to do to make this work is order the autometer ford sender that plugs into the tranny and wire it up... i like the way it looks, works, and best of all its programmable incase you ever get different tires or rear end gears, you dont have to change the speedo gear, just re program the speedo.
