All i have to say is: If i raced a factory 04 Cobra.......You better know how to drive it.

So you're saying *IF* it were an auto, that it would be a close race or you might lose? And in the same respect you're saying that SINCE IT IS A MANUAL, there is skill in driving the 6spd cobra? ...my point exactly.

You're saying that if the guy doesn't know how to drive the cobra, you'll beat it. Thats what i'm understanding from you post. Which MEANS that there is some skill required in driving a 5spd...

Drag racing a manual obviously requires skill, and if that's what you prefer - great. Auto vs manual comes down to preference. As far drag racing, performance autos are more practical for higher powered cars if consistent wins are the priority. My first experience in a drag car was an automatic .. and I'll never forget it . Before that day I thought manuals were the only way to go.

What are you kidding me man? The only auto thats going to be a 5spd is maybe one with a shift kit. My 98GT was an auto, and i'll never own another auto stang again

Speaking of death, there are *plenty* of auto GT's that could kill any 5 speed (of comparable power) you've ever driven.

Anyone on the thread topic you will be able to get that piece and it probably will not cost much. Since you say you already got to the old one to glue it up, you have the hard part mastered already which is getting to the stupid part.

I agree, jimfitzgerald knows alot about mustangs and im quite sure other cars as well...manuals or autos.

Yeah thats if the driver was bad in the 5spd. Because if the same pro driver raced both cars, the 5spd is faster...UNLESS the auto has mods, but we are talkin stock for stock here...

You're talking stock, we're talking modded. What's the use in racing a car that is stock?
