heres my sob story...

got on here just to browse around the classifieds on 11/13/08, i was on the hunt for some 42lb injectors, ironicly there was a classified ad from screen name joslanski on 11/12/08 selling 2 sets. i left him a message and he contacted me said he wanted 150 bucks for the injectors shipped to my door, i sent him out a money order asap, i dont remember the exact ship date of sending the money order but it was no later then the 15th, i sent him an email every few days checking the status of if the money order has arived yet and then he finally says he recieved it on or about the 26th. (by the way he is in toronto and im in ca) says he is having trouble cashing it but gets it cashed the 27th, says he mailed the injectors the 28th, today is the 22 of december and i still dont have my injectors.

yes i realize that this is the holiday season but my god 25 days and still nothing?????? he told me 2 weeks ago that there wasnt a tracking number and he mailed them standard canadian mail which i assume is the same as our postal service. i sent him an email last friday which was the 22nd day and stated that im trying to be as patient as possible but with him having no proof of mailing the injectors (not even a reciept) and still nothing in the mail im going to have to ask for a refund if they arent here in the next few days. well that email was unanswered so after the mail ran today and still nothing i sent another email stating that they still arnt here and im without a doubt going to have to request a refund and again it was unanswered.

so im wondering if anyone else on here has ever delt with him, knows him, is he a stand up guy? if he says he mailed them can i take his word on that? anyone ever bought anything from him before??

Well first thing first. I have bought and sold a 100 car parts on Ebay, everything from a steering wheel to gauges to my supercharger over the past year.

I recently shipped a JLT intake from Winnipeg (Canada) to Texas and it took a heck of a lot longer than that! I shipped it Canada Post expedited 6-12 buisness days. Well it took 4 weeks. They can't account for customs and brokerage delays. Things sit at customs for a LONG time especially this time of year.

ok, that brings up another question, if it is a customs issue and lets say thats where they are sittin how do i find out? is there a way to contact them or is there a certain guideline as far as what will get stuck in customs and what wont or does everything basicly do its processing time in customs regardless of what it is?

yep no way to find out. it's hurry up and wait. You are basically at their mercy.

I'm not sure why he sent something so expensive standard shipping. I'm pretty sure Canada Post no longer ships any parcels standard shipping as they take FOREVER. I ship everything Canada Post expedited which includes shipping and insurance. He may however shipped it small packets delivery which is usually 6-12 business days as well but again you can't account for customs delays.

I would be patient and give it some more time. Remeber what time of year it is. Postal service is flooded.

ya ive been tryin really hard to be patient, its the final piece to the puzzle is what my main problem is as well as the unknown of where they are at of course. i built a pretty decent 393 for my fox, converted it to a 5 speed, and have got everything done and finalized and am just waiting on the injectors to finally hear it run so obviously my patience is basicly non exsistant, im sure you know how it is, thanks

Well I personally would wait till the end of the month. This is a ridiculous time of year to ship something non-courier (time constraints). Like I say I shipped something expedited 6-12 business days which took 4 weeks to arrive at the buyer.

Not sure what you'll be able to do if they don't arrive????? No tracking = no info. Canada Post won't help you because you're the receiver.

So hang in there and hopefully you'll get them soon!

ive got desperate, ive got my eyes on a set on ebay, worst case is i have 2 sets of injectors and will turn around and sell one set when the canadian ones come in. it just sucks cause my car is just sittin in the garage with its brand new powerplant minus injectors. i REALLY need my injectors

today is day 30 after they were "shipped" and still nothing, not even a response from the emails i have sent. i ended up buying the other set of injectors off ebay, they arent scheduled to be here till the 5th of jan though but atleast i got a tracking number for them and an expected date of arival.

is there anything that can be done as far as stangnet is concerned about helping me recieve a refund if it comes down to that or is it a lost cause if they never show up?

if they ever do show up and you are still interested in them they will be up for grabs. ive lost all hope in them showing up since the seller seems to be without a doubt avoiding communication with me.

i recieved a email back from him, it stated that he is not wanting any issues and is willing to issue a refund pending their arrival.

sounds pretty sincere being willing to go to that extent of the refund pending arrival and by all means if they do arrive ill be MORE than willing to repay for them as origionally agreed.

thanks again stanggt and cobra i appriciate it, atleast for now the communication has been restored, i will post if anything changes such as if the injectors do arrive or if the refund is recieved.

Definitely good to know he has gotten back in touch.

Hopefully it's been just an issue with them being held up crossing the border, and you should have them shortly. I'd be hesitant to come out and call anyone a scammer without any sort of proof, so we have to take him at his word. Keep us up to date if anything changes from this point forward.

i completely agree 1000% and hopefully that is what the issue is and hopefully they were just held up at customs. By no means did i start this thread to call him a scammer. I started it to see if anyone on here knew him and could reassure me that he is a stand up guy.

as far as taking his word on it goes ive really tried to but as you stated there is no solid proof in calling him a scammer there is also no proof in him ever shipping the injectors. i admit i have sold things on ebay and took whatever it was to the post office and missplaced the reciept but its been 45 days since i sent the payment and 31 days since he stated sending the injectors. at what point does one finally say ok yes i understand its the holiday season, yes i understand it has to be processed through customs but my god they still should have been there by now?

well at bare minimum communication has been restored and again i will post to let anyone know if the injectors do arrive or if he comes through with the refund.

stated payment was recieved 37 days ago
stated shipping them 35 days ago
i asked for a refund 10 days ago

still no injectors and no refund.

i think ive been more then patient and im gonna go ahead and call this

hhhmmm too bad. I was sweating a bit myself after I sold a set of valve covers Dec 8 and shipped right after to the US. Just arrive to the buyer. I shipped it "6-12 business days". So much for that.
