anyone ever get sponsored?

hey every1 i am on my way to getting sponsored....i have a few companies already donating me some parts and other things, a few more companies interested...and some i am still getting proposals togeher for....i was wondering if anyone has tried or has gotten sponsored and what the outcome was

i used to bmx race and hooters sponcerd me... it was Cool as hell i was 13..

im just tryin to find out if there is anything special i should include in the proposal to get their attention right away

same here I was a BMX racer and had a few good sponsor's and then got into Moto-X

What are you trying to get sponsored for? Don't expect anything big up front, just baby steps. My family gets about 50k a year in sponsor money for thier race cars, but reputation goes a long way.

lol yeah, i rode bmx for a catering company (it was great though cause that meant free food) and a local bike shop...but thats about it.

my dad and i have a sponsorship from Meguiars (car care products) on our show car[the the mustang]. they sent like 80lbs worth of car care stuff in exchange for us putting a couple decals on the ride. not too bad, and they are definately hard to get(at least with our experiences).

UPDATE: This is what i got coming so far

Trickflow is sending me a track heat upper and valve covers

Nitto is sending me 8 245/50/16 drag radials

MM is sending me my in need upper and lower non adjustable control arms

Wildrides race cars is sending me their battle boxes

Summit wants a photoshopped pic of my car with there name on it to see if they like my car but most likely the rep said he would sponsor me.....they will send me the summit racing seats along with the 5 point harness

Brothers performance is sending me there 4 point roll bar for convertible

every company in return is getting their decal put on my car for 1 year.....

other sponsors im working on:

tnt nitrous
nx nitrous
Baer brakes(local to me here in phoenix)
local weld pro.....metal man has been in super street magazinesand makes anything out of metal

SOOO... what did you promise them for them to send you free parts? I will GLADLY run free parts on my car to put a sticker on it! I have gotten money from local guys running stickers, but never enough or consistent enuff to run them all the time!

I wanna know too. I put a LaRocca's Performance sticker on both sides of my car and the only thing I got was a bill for $675 for the dyno tune they performed on my car.

sorry for the late response guys.....but yea basically i promised them to make a decal in the dimensions of at least 4 inches tall and 15 inches wide...longer is the company name has more characters.....it also helps that i am the communications rep of a local website with over 500 members in just 4 months of it started......and gave them a list of all the car shows i will be attending...alll the drag events me and my club will be going to as well as local car shows here in az that happen every sat that attract more then 1000 spectators and more then 250 cars for show.......basically i ask each company for parts that retail for no more then 500 bucks and in return give them all that exposure for a year......i currently have an interview with baer brakes who is here in phoenix.....i will give him that years advertisment and also a forum on our website free of charge for a year in return for a rear disc brake conversion and upgrade the front brakes......the gm was very interested and wants to hear more so im thinkin thats gonna go good hopefully

I should try this, I go to tons of shows, and races and am known in my area by a lot of people! Ill run a sticker on the back window for free stuff... Maybe Cervinis, if they give me a hood and Saleen front splitter???

I just know the owner of the company basically.. We do a trade, he gives me all parts at cost, and I run advertising for him... Not a "real" sponsorship I guess you'd say, but also I am technically sponsored by him.

I wouldn't run any other sponsor stickers unless my car was an actual race car.
