changed rotors on the front of my 98 Cobra saturday.....i have 18" Bullits all the way around...and i have drove it about 5-6 miles...i got back and decided to check the lug nuts and they were somewhat loose.....so to make sure the wheel wasnt on loosely,i jacked the car up....loosened the lug nuts real good....moved the wheel around a little bit and pushed it all the way up....tightened the lug nuts while in the air....and then tightened them again when i let the car down....took her down the road 5-6 miles and i get back and seems they are a little loose again....anyone else ever have this prollem ?...if so...PLEASE let me know what ya done to fix it or cure it or what the prollem could be.....thanks guys

I've had that happen to me, but not in my stang. What happened was, I put some chrome lugnuts on aftermarket rims and the lug nuts hit the stud before fully seating in the taper. It was not a pretty situation after the wheels worked their way loose...

Well, its best to check the lugnuts after 100 miles or so to make sure they are still tight. However, I have not heard of them loosening up after only 5 miles. Did yoy use too much antiseize on the studs and get it on the nut seating area? What are you torquing them to?

When I had my Y2K rims, they backed off a bit. Only after the first time I put them on though. Just tightened them and they were good the rest of the time.

It's usually normal with aftermarket rims. When I got my 18's put on they had me come back after the first 100 miles to re-torque and then again after the next 1,000. Maybe 1 or 2 backed off just a little but they stayed pretty tight otherwise.
