You know how Wal-Mart usually has elderly door greeters and stuff, right. So last night I went to get a fan for my uncles garage. At night they usually close one set of doors and leave the ones on the other side open. So me and my girl are paying for the fan and we're at the last register closest to the door and while we're paying I look over to see if the doors are still open and they are, while Im doing this the old guy is watching and we make eye contact and kind of say whats up you know.

Anyway we finish paying, I put the reciept in my pocket and we start to walk out. Now Im carrying the fan under my right arm and my girl is on the left and we're talking and just walk through the doors. We're half way out when I hear some shouting and its the door guy. He comes scurring up and gets right in front of me blocking my exit. So this dude is in my face, pushing me with his chest and at this point we were already near the last door and hes demanding my reciept and Im like "Are you serious?" He says to me" I dont know if you payed for any of that buster." Now he starts hassling me and Im like dude whatever cuz hes still trying to use his body to push me back in the store. I look at my girlfriend and shes like "huh?" At this point Im pretty annoyed so I start trying to walk out around him. Then hes grabs both my arms with his hands and starts to push me back in the store. Now Im holding a fan under my right arm, trying to reach for my reciept with my left arm, while trying to get this old guy off me, who is still grabbing me by the arms and he starts saying I better or else. So Ive had enough and Ive got the reciept in my left hand now and I say "You want my reciept, here it is" and I crumble it in my hand right in his face. He gets even more agressive and puts his body into it, really trying to knock me back. Now Im kind of mad and trying not to laugh cuz I couldnt believe this was really happening. So in one strong motion I push him out of the way with my chest cuz hes still got both my arms and he finally lets go. So Im standing right outside and hes just there by the door and then I tell him something thats too hot for T.V. and I throw the reciept in his face and we walked away. My girlfriend is just like "What the hell just happened?" Im like "I dont know, I guess he has a fetish for receipts" Now we're in the car and I start to feel throbbing on both my arms and I had hand marks where he had me by the arms. I guess that dude really had the squeeze, I just didnt feel it at the time cuz I was so caught up in disbelief.

If I hadnt had the fan under my arm I dont know what would have happened. If he had kindly asked for a reciept it would of been cool, but he ran right infront of me and immediately starting using his body to push me, and that **** didnt fly with me. Now I hope that stupid fan works cuz I dont have the reciept to return it. I think I should have thought that part through more carefully.

You are a good guy not to have beat him up. Sounds like he was nuts and lucky he didn't get someone with less patience or no fan under the arm cause he could have gotten a real aZZ whoopin for doin that. He assaulted you both - in my state. - Thats up to $5000 and 5 years if you felt threatened.

i bought a futon from there once, paid for it and since it was an oversized item they had an employee wheel it out on a car for me. i paid right near the door (where the greeter was so im sure he seen) then walk about 10 feet from the register to the door and get stopped. the greeter guy was demanding to see a receipt before he would let us walk through the door. both me and the employee just look at each other. after we got outside the employee apologized and said that he takes his job way to serious

I told my mom about it and thats what she said too. She told me I should have also spoken to the manager. Im just thinking the next time that I go to Wal-Mart and if hes at the door what would happen. He would probably have his pals in housewares backing him up!

The guy is either a "used to be" cop or security guard. Now, he can't let go of the fact that he's not a cop anymore and is now just working at Wal-Mart. I would go complain to the manager anyway. They have cameras EVERYWHERE in those stores. You may get a nice little gift certificate from the store, for your troubles.

I'm glad I am 6'5" tall and 250.

Most of the time they don't want to check my receipt, even though I've got it in my hand and walking towards them. I'm not a mean person or intimidating (I don't think so), but some people just get nervous around someone who can look down on the top of their head.

You did the right thing man. I know "respect your elders" is played out over and over, but I would have done the same if it was some 70 year old guy pushing and holding my arms. His life is almost over and yours is just beginning. If he wants to sin for the rest of his short days, then let it be his problem, no point in stooping to his level.

Their parking lots suck too. Most of their customers can't afford nice cars, so they don't give a **** about their own, much less anyone else's. I always park in BFE if I have to go there.

I used to work at Best Buy and our LP guy had to see receipts for anything that won't fit in a bag, even if I was carrying it out, cause it was his ass if something big got stolen. But if they saw someone pay for something they wouldn't stop them, and if they had to stop someone, you're not supposed to be an ass unless you have proof(video footage) that they actually stole something.
One time I caught a kid shoplifting, and LP got him at the door. When the cops showed up, he tried to run from the officer, so he got tazed and busted his head open on the wall when he fell. That was funny.

The kid actually ran from the front of the store and made it to the back before the cop caught up and tazed him, so we didn't have the cameras on him. But we did have some pictures of the kid laying on a stretcher in a neck brace with his hands cuffed on his chest. I bet he felt like a dumbass laying there with all us employees running out looking and laughing at him and taking pictures.
