Anyone familiar with these?

It's only an inch or two. What's the big deal?

From what I've read, If I'm correct, TREMEC bought out borg-warner.
The t-45 mustang transmission was the last effort of borg warner before the buy out. Now Keisler Engineering has bought old borg warner rights and equipment and has upgraded the old t-45 up to 600 ft lbs torque. In an effort to out do the TKO transmissions, Keisler hired old Borg Warner engineers and released this new Keisler RS 600. They say it shifts like a a t-56 because it is the same trans minus 6th gear. It's as strong as a tko 600 and shifts faster and more accurately. Priced same as a TKO. Anyone else out there seen or used these yet? They supposedly have just been released.

The T-45 won't bolt up to a 302/351W block. To the best of my knowledge, there is no adapter available and the T-45 was only mated to the 4.6, which has an entirely different bolt pattern. It also has an integrated bellhousing, not like the T-5 which is separate.

Check the link. They've removed the integral bell housing and replaced it with an end plate that will bolt up to a muncie or TKO bell housing to sbf......

Yeah, I know I'm a post whore.

More importantly, they also make a 500ft lb and a 400 ft lb , the later sells for $1300.00 !!!!!! This is big news! Fox transmission options just got bigger and better! the t-45 was waaayy better than the t-5. Opinions? finger signs?:D

Being that I have no experience with T45 transmissions, how is a stock T45 compare to a stock T5? Almost any trans with a higher durability or capacity rating than a stock T5 is an improvement.

Well I personally have never owned a t-45 either. However I've had two t-56 6 speeds and they are far far superior strength wise and shifting capability. The shaft centers are farther apart to allow for larger bearings and gears, and the shift "rails...?" I believe they are called are much more precise. The t-56 just feels better. NOW, the reason I point this out, is because the t-45 is, according to Keisler, the same internally as the t-56, just no 6th gear, and I would assume wider ratio to make up for the lack thereof.

The t-45 isn't that great either...but I am talking factory t-45. They are rated at 330 ft-lbs and love to randomly lock in reverse.

Of course an aftermarket t-45 is a different story. So what bellhousing do you need to run with it? Can I just drop my t-5 and slide this new trans in place? What is input shaft spline count?

It prob says it on the webpage but I am on a damned iPhone at the moment and can't read it

The old muncie 4 spd they put in the 60's-70's cars and the tko 500-600 bell housings are the same, this is the bell housing this trans uses also. 26 spline input, and the entry level is good for 400 lb ft. I think I'm gonna get a 600.
I just wish I had more feed back on them. I read about one a guy had behind a big block pontiac and he said it was great. I'll try to post a link to that later if I can find it again.

Well, I pulled the trigger on it. Just got off the phone with Mr Shafi Keisler himself! Getting a Keisler RS 500. I thought about the 600, but the 500 has a deeper 1st gear, and I just had to have that. This transmission brand new is $300 cheaper than a TKO500 and has a 3 year warranty. Hard to beat that, we'll see!:nice:

Ok so if I pull out my T-5 I would need to change the bell housing to a tko housing?

Do you know if my transmission yoke will fit this new monster?

You would think if they wanted to dominate the market they would have a direct bolt in replacement for the T-5

I know...

The bell housing will need to be changed out to tko.ford racing sells them as cobra r's for $199.Summit and jegs both have it. keisler sells them for $269. the RS 400 is a 10 spline input shaft just like your t5 and stock clutch will work. RS 500 and 600 are 26 spline and you'll need a different clutch for those. As for the d/s yoke, I'm not sure...I asked about a drive shaft, and they're sending me one. Call 1-888-609-0094 toll free. They were super friendly and very helpful. They were very happy to answer questions.

So the drive shaft and bell housing need to be replaced?

What of the cross member? Anything else?

Think the cross member's the same. he said the mount was for sure. I'll let you know when it all comes in. Like I said, not sure about the shaft, I needed one anyway, when it comes in, I'll compare it to a buddy's and let y'all know the differences.
