Anyone have a PSR K-Member??

My good friend has a PSR K member and coil overs in his 04 Mach 1.
It's a great kit for the money spent.It also took a great deal of weight
off the front end.The fitment was good but,he had to massage it into
place though and it fit.
If your looking to do any weight reduction the dyna-batt battery is
only 13 lbs. and is quite small too.You just have to buy their battery
bracket so it will fit.You can also get a Odyssey battery people seem
to really like them too.
If your car is mostly a street car and only sees the track every now
and then don't get coil overs because they are somewhat noisey in
the front end.I highly recommend getting some good struts and shocks
though and a nice set of springs like Eibach or H&R.
Everyone I talk to that has a K member seems to love their Maximum
Motorsport K member.Great quality and excellent workman ship into
this K member and I would seriously consider getting one.The strength
of the MM K member is what I like the most!

The fitment is perfect with the PSR K-member. If any tweaking is needed, the the subframe of the car is tweaked.
You can't use stock arms with the k-member. You must use the tubular a-arms that come fully assembled with the K-member. MOST stock struts can be reused with the coilover kit you must buy.
The key to making this k-member quiet as stock is the spring selection and CC plates. For your GT, you best selection for your usage would be 14/175LBS springs and the Maximum Motorsport four bolt CC plates

i know you said you were looking into other k members other than MM but, with the MM k you can use your stock A arms and its is beefy enough to where it saves weight but is engineered to be daily driven as well.. others cant take the abuse of DD.. not saying no other one can be daily driven but MM will handle the abuse better..

im sure the one you are looking at is a great kit though

The problem with retaining stock Arms is that you lose the responsiveness of the less unsprung weight with the tubular a-arms.
As far as holding up to abuse, I don't know of any MM K-member that uses stock arms that has 60-80K miles on them. I know of quite a few PSR K-members with that many street and strip miles on them and are still going strong.
Also, I think ALL MM k-members require oilfilter relocation kits. The PSR does not.

I have the new steeda k member. My car hasn't been on the road yet with it, but the install went smooth. I used the stock a arms, and coil springs. I didn't want to go with coil overs for various reasons. I would have gone MM, but you can't run stock a arms, and coil springs.

The only other units that allow for stock a arms that I know of are QA-1 or PA racing. I have never used or seen either so I can't comment on them. The steeda is going to cost more then either of those two.

i didnt have to relocate my oil filter..its is only required if your car is an auto or if you have an oil cooler

Im also in the market for a K member and was doing research on the best fitting one that also has spring perches since i dont want to go with coil overs.

I came to the conclusion that PA Racing is the way to go and has the best fitment. I contacted them and they told me that for a street car go with the mild steel version.
