I am wondering how the stall converter works on an AOD, you rev it up without the car moving on an automatic... Do you hold your brake down or put it in drive after you have given it some gas? I have yet to get an answer

I'm not quite sure what your question is.. but if you want to raise your rpms without moving, a transbrake is the best way to go. you can also load the converter by stepping on the brake and gradually raising your rpms to whatever rpms your converter stalls at.. without a transbrake you'll start to spin tires about 300rpms lower than your converter's claimed stall speed. The only way to get a converter to stall at the correct speed is with a transbrake. You can also flash the converter by keeping your foot on the brake & the other off the gas until your ready to go, then just punch the gas.. but you will have better results with loading the converter.

I just installed a art carr aod with a tci 3000 stall speed .. on a stock car it sucks. If you want to do it right match your cam combo and rear gearing with your stall converter. If you get it right you will haul balls trust me. I am going from bone stock VERT to the tranny above 4.10s and a thumper combo/tfs cam and 100 shot of NOS .. should be fun.

My first mod was a 2800 Precision Ind. stall conv. With the stock conv. the car wouldnt even power brake. After the new conv. was put in,it would smoke the tires by just punching it out ( even with 273's gears ) It is by far the best mod Ive done, even better then my 410's.

Give Andre a call at www.edgeracingconverters.com. alot of us are running them and wow what a difference. Took my mostly stock motored car into the high 13's with just a few bolt ons. Well worth the money.
