Anyone have experience mounting parachutes?

I have a competition engineering parachaute mount kit. It comes with the necessary hardware to mount the chute to the plate the kit brings. I have a simpson chute, and it has a plate in the back. My question is, how do I mount the plate from the comp engineering kit to the plate from the chute? Do I weld it, bolt it, do I have to make a hole at the back of the chute bag for the tube?
