Anyone have instructions to what is needed to moddify the stock crossmember for tko?

You can cut the welds on the x-member, move it rearward and re-weld it. This keeps the stock bracket location on the frame. I did it on one of my cars, but bought the HPM tremec cross member for my coupe. It is a nice piece and you may want to consider getting one.

it was about a mm or 2 away from lining up the tranny mount to the slot holes in the crossmember... so i just used a crow bar.... but of course mine is a 94 so it might be a little different....

I have an 85 GT with a stock double hump cross member. Yah know how the crossmember has the long slots instead of holes for the tranny bolts to line up. It was completely rearward of those slots as far as it could go but it lined up and I didnt have to mess with it.

once agian interesting...makes me think the stock member will work...hm....

Just cut the welds on the x-member before installing it.
By doing this you can move it back and forth to get it where it needs to be then have it re-welded.

The new adjustable ones are less than $50, that's what I did. Slide it till it bolts in, then weld it down. I've also heard the the crossmember from an AOD will work with no modifications, but haven't seen it myself.
