I need a catback system for my 02 gt. I was looking for someone who has loudmouth exhaust on their car or has heard it personally. I listened to a soundclip but it's hard to really hear it clearly.I want something deep and throaty that you can hear coming, but I don't want it to sound like strait pipes,or like a joe dirt mobile.

if you want deep and throaty... stay away from SLP. ive heard their products on GM's and it sounds like a bunch of rattling cans. FLOWMASTERRRR!

I have the SLP loud mouth, I think it sounds deep and throaty. I actually replaced my rusted out flowmasters with the SLP kit. Sounds much better! It also fit very well. Take it for what it's worth.

Is it like head turning shockingly loud? Like scare old lady loud?
or like that car sounds mean but not obnoxious loud.
I just don't want my neighbors to think I have a top fuel dragster in my garage.

BOTH! My buddy has a 03 GT with the catback and O/R X and it is LOUD! It has some gurgling on deceleration though.

I personally wouldn't get it because it's just too damn loud for me......

bgwrm89gt when it comes to asking questions about exhaust..no thread will ever help you, we are all different, we all have different opinions on what sounds good, and what doesn't,and what is loud and what not. You need to hear the exhaust in person and decide on that. i have a few friends with the flowmaster, and one with the magnapack exhaust..and all of them except one of the dudes with the flowmaster WISH they had my exhaust..it sounds mean and nice, but dont take my word for it.

I think you should set the example and do it first.

From what I remember the slp's drone a little louder in general, throught the rpm's, than my a\t catback does. The slp's really don't sound bad, just different. I would catagorize them with a glasspack sound.

Sounds like you should consider SPINTECH mufflers

I heard the SLP, on an LS1, sounded obnoxiously loud

uh no

put bbk lts, o/r h,and slp cracklemouth on my 02 gt and way to hilly pick-up loud and crackly in my opinion. im really not happy the slp system is coming off and going up for sale. there is one thing i do like about the slp kit, the tips are killer looking. anything above 2500 rpm and its snap, crackle, pop. some guys like that and i wont rip on them but i just cant stand it. im thinking of buying a flowmaster kit and reusing the slp tips.

Heard slp on my friends LS1 SS and it was real loud and high pitched hurt my ears. On www.mustangexhaust.com they have 2 clips, I think they make a stang sound like a rusty ol pickup with dual exhaust. Stick with flows, bassani, or magnaflows and get that classic mustang sound.

I think I might go with magna packs. I agree the clips I heard of slp sound like a 79 ford wiyh straight pipes. too rough for me, the magna packs sound lower and smoother.

They sound different on mustangs....duh. I love my setup...i think ill keep the cats though. It is very deep. Loud at wot but almost stock quiet at idle. I heard they sound alot like the magnapacks. So why not be different and get something that not a lot of people have?
