I have the shaker 1000 in my vert and love it. For some reason when I got my slp loudmouth axleback exhaust, my listening priorities have catered to the exhaust. Is there a way other than through the deck to turn the gain up on the amps? I havent done anything with it other than through the stereo itself!

I just got my '06 GT with the Shaker 500, however I'm a bit disappointed There seems to be a problem when turning on the system it is loud at first and then the volume fades out or goes down, almost as if the amp is cutting out. I did set the bass and treble all the way up, but it still doesnt seem to have that punch. Does anybody else have this problem or know what i talking about. Perhaps I should take it back into the dealership. Or is the 500 just plan junk!

I'd definately take it back to the dealer. I've got the 500 too and mine doesn't do that.

Try setting the speed sensitive volume setting on the head unit to 0. If the volume fades when you come to a stop , its probably this. 0 is off and 7 is the maximum.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I would HIGHLY recommend replacing the rear 5 x 7 speakers. I replaced mine with a pair of Inifinity Kappa 682.7CF and the improvement was wonderful. System made a huge leaps in volume (Kappas were 2 ohm, paper cone speakers they replaced were 4 ohm), highs, bass, and clarity. I hated to replace speakers on a rather pricey factory system, but that was money well spent. I'm telling you those rear speakers really are a sonic weak link. May be just the ticket for your vert!

RedFlash, how do you find the brightness of the Infinity speakers? I've had some Infinity before in a 94 SuperCoupe but I found the sound way too bright and it just got fatiguing after a little while. I took them back and was going to do some pioneers but decided to just sell the car in the mean time, lol.

I haven't been overly impressed with the stock 'premium' Infinity systems that I have had in the past on my Dodge trucks. Based on positive reviews I had read on these Kappa's, I ordered a pair and decide to give them a whirl. My ears percieved that the stock rear speakers were a real dead area in the system with little bass, no highs, and muddy midrange. I wasn't total sure that the rear speakers were even recieving the full frequency range (found out on my Dodge Infinity the rear speakers received midrange only by design). Well to my delight the rear 5 x 7's do recieve full range it's just with those poor paper cone stock rears you couldn't tell.

I've been testing systems with one of my favorite 'test' cds, Van Halen: 1984 . The highs are spacious and natural, not bright and artificial. I really was looking for improvement in midrange and high clarity, but got a nice boost in bass response as well. The Kappas to my ears work well with the remaining Shaker system speakers.

Thats good to know, thanks for the tip!

Did you do anything for any of the others or just the rears?

Might be a summertime upgrade after I get a CAI.
