i had a set of bbk longtubes with the ceramic coating. after a year they turned out lookin like crap. now i've got a set of new chrome bbks and i'm thinkin about having them jet-hotted. was wondering if anyone has had it done and if your happy with how the coating lasts. also any pics would be helpful. without coating on the chrome headers will they rust up like the ceramics or just turn blueish? thanks for any help

Ceramic will turn grey over time but wont rust or blue like chrome. If you take some time to apply a little wax once in a while I understand they will hold up nicely. I had my TIRED old mac LT's done..very happy with the results so far.

Yeah mine lost their luster pretty quickly (they turn a little "fuzzy looking"), but it's worth getting because the coating protects the headers a little better than the chrome. My experience was always that the chromies rusted quicker than the ceramic.
I bet a coating done by Jet-Hot will las longer than the coating that comes on the BBK's, if they can coat over the chrome I'd say go for it.

I bead blasted my shroties before getting them Jet-Hot coated 4 years ago. No visible rust - but they do turn a "milky" color that can be polished off if that bothers you. Doesn't bother me at all...........

I would also recommend that you check out HPC. http://www.hpcoatings.com

They did an amazing job on my Hooker Super Comps for my Fairlane, and at the time I did them it was significantly less expensive than Jet Hot. They were coated inside and out with their HiPerCoat coating which is comparable to Jet Hots Sterling.

Here are some before and after pics.

I've driven them a few thousand miles and raced them at the track and got them real hot and they still look brand new.
