Anyone Have This Tire? Nankang NS 2

Hey guys just wondering if any of you are running nankang ns2 tires on your stangers. Im looking to get the 265/35/18s for a pretty good deal locally from a reputable tire shop. If anyone has any input or any photos it would be greatly appreciated thank you.

they are complete JUNK. just like the triangle brand tires. stay away from them!!!

if you want something good and cheap get some Nexen N3000's 265/35/18 the cost was around $110 last i checked. expect to pay around $125 each for them. i run these on the front of my car with no issues in the past 4 years

I had Nankang's on my car when I first bought it. I don't remember the exact ones, but I can tell you by tomorrow evening.

They sucked. Period. Horrible wear. No traction, even on a stock, auto NPI GT. Honestly, I'd look for something else.

All of this is, of course, if the ones you are looking at are the same ones that I had.

lol, i wont be doing much high speed driving or tight corner turning and i will barely drive it 3 thousand miles a year. i did not want to spend 1000 on tires alone that i will throw out because of dry rot with only 15 thousand miles on them thats why. but you guys have experience with them so i will take your words for it.

i second that

i had nexxen n3000 on my bmw and they are a very nice tire for the price, i got 4 18" tires for 390$, they are a very good budget tire. Now right now on my stang it came with nankangs when i bought it and i don't have any problems with the tire, but i am also not out driving like a pissed off teenager everywhere i go. I gotta get some mods before i do that

Had em a few years ago... nothing special about them, not a very good tire... poor warm and cold traction and meh handling. The only thing they had going for them is that they weren't dangerous to drive in the rain.

The best budget tire I've run to date is the Sumitomo HTR-ZIII. I slapped them on the front of my 97 Camaro and they held almost as well in a corner as the Goodyear GS-D3's they were paired to (275 Sumitomo up front, 285 Goodyear out back) and had no trouble with rain.

What is your price range. There a ton of good tires in the $150 range. I just paid around $168 a tire for some of the best tires I've ever owned. BFG KDW'2s BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 . Don't skip out on your Mustangs tires just because its a weekend warrior. The time or mileage you drive on that car shouldn't even be a consideration. If its only a weekend warrior I would buy Nitto -05's. Its Nittos new tire thats far more superior than the original Nitto 555's.

Khumo MX's are a great hooking summer tire I think for $151
Kumho Ecsta MX

Pirelli PZero M&S this is one of the best all season tires if your looking for that. Kumho Ecsta MX

These are prices that usually run much cheaper than these retail tire shops. I know I saved $400 for a set of 4 goodyears from tirerack/discounttiredirect over the goodyear shop here.

I'm on my 3rd set of BFG's. First set was the 1st gen KDW, 2nd was the KDWS's. I'm now running the G-force sports. I've been happy with all of them. So far, the KDW's have been the best, followed by the sports as far as performance is concerned. A performance tire that lasts 40k miles for a decent price is good in my book.

With tires, you kinda get what you pay for. Granted, you only need what you will use. I just wouldnt put junk tires on. They will just cost you more in the end.

i had bfg kdws on my 17 bullits those were ok i guess i have never noticed a tire do anything special, i dont really drive my cars in such a manner that it requires for tires to grip. the mustang to me is just a weekend cruiser, my 3.0 lexus has more hp that my v8 4.6 does. but if they are that ridiculous that for a normal driver like myself will be in trouble with the nankangs then for sure i will not even think twice about getting them, i will tell the shop to get me something different or they wont have my business.

lol. Sad, but true. I never pulled better than a 2.20 60' at the track with them, and that was with it about 75 degrees out. They really were pitiful.

OP, I'm not sure just how big a budget you're on, but I still recommend Nitto 555s. The 245/45-17 can be had for $120 a tire, not too bad considering how good they are (IMO). The 265's would probably be in the area of $160. I have the 255/40-17 on my car, and have cut 2.05 60's, in 40 degree weather with dew on the hood of the car, multiple times. Great hooking tires. They have upwards of 20,000 miles of HARD driving and over 100 passes at the strip on them, and still are in good shape.

My granddad just put 275/40-17s on his Mach 1, and it REALLY hooks. Me and a buddy were riding around in the Mach, and decided to pull a hole-shot; it was crazy; I built it up to about 1800 rpm, let off the break and smacked the gas (it's an auto), and there was NO wheel spin. The car literally shook when it launched. And this was about 15 minutes before it started snowing....I can't imagine how crazy they would be in the summer.

The best tires I have had under $150 are the Toyo's. Doesn't matter which one. I was going through 4 sets a year and went through everybody's tires. They are the only ones I will race on now after testing them to 200mph on the Dyno. They were absolutely the best balanced, best handling, most quiet, and had the best ride quality of all of them.

don't waste your money on those tires, they're not even good enough for burnouts. the strip of rubber that runs down the middle of the tire flew off after a modest donut

I definitely agree. I've had the Toyo T1S's and I bought a set of T1R's last year. They are a great tire. I paid $143 for the T1R's.

My mistake. I'm only running a 17X9 rim. Mine are 265/40/17's.
