I don't shop there too often, but figured it might come in handy to have one of Summits credit cards ( CarCareONE).. The interest rate is 22.9% ( i believe that was it). Most I would spend is $250 at a time. ( mandrel bends and A/N fittings)

I just use the trusty MasterCard. And I'm with Justin on the interest rate.

I just use mine whenever I order from Summit and then pay the bill in full when it comes. No problems. I don't keep any other credit cards and I like the month-long buffer period to pay

I would only get it if they give specials occasionally, like no interest for X amount of months.

IMO, if you can't afford it at the time of the order, you shouldn't buy it. Well, I don't care what anyone else does but that's the way I do it. Like I said, the bill comes and I pay it right off. It's as good as having interest-free, because it never accrues and I get a month's time to pay anyway.

That's just me.

None that I know of; but like I said at the least it's like a 30-day loan with no fees

From summitracing.com:
• Three deferred interest payment options (minimum monthly payment required)
--90 days interest-free (purchases of $150 or more per order)
--180 days interest-free (purchases of $300 or more per order)
--360 days interest-free (purchases of $500 or more per order)

That interest rate is insane, but as long as you pay it off at the end of the month (or pay off most of it), you'll be fine.

A summit card at age 18 could have gotten ugly.

no point to it, unless you wanna really f urself in the future and take advatage of the no interest for x amount of months

Just get a typical cc, and always pay it off at the end of the month. I had my first cc at age 18, and by the time i was 20 i got my first dividend card. Now this baby is sick, 1% cash back on everything, and 5% cash back on GAS, grocery stores, and a few other places i cant recall right now.
