First off, i have a 97 cobra, and i've seen plenty of articles on how to install it by way of the gauge cluster, however im wanting to tap into the ecu. and take it to the AC vent as i've seen on the newer mustangs. Does anyone know what to tap into on the 96-98 mustang years? If so any help would be greatly appriciated, thanks.

So then what wires on the pcm do i need to tap into, like i said for the 99and up models they show you exactly which wires to tap into on the pcm, but not for 96-98's you have a 97 so yours are going to be the same as mine.

When installing my light today, looking at the pcm, the wires aren't the same as the 99 and up instructions show, so they cannot be the same plus the 96-98's arent coil on plug like the 99 and up models, so im lost as to where to tap into. Any help would be appriciated.

alright thats my fault. i've installed two so far. one in my 03 cobra and the other in my roush. i was getting the two installs mixed up. all you need for the tach signal in our cars is to find the brown wire behind the gauge cluster, then just find a suitable power and ground. that i'm 100% is correct, sorry about the confusion.
