Anyone know how to setup a sub?

seems like a lot of good info has been given. u might want to go over to caraudio.com really good forums for for car audio stuff. I woudltn worry to much bout the rms of the amp, unless your going for heart pounding bass. You will be happy once you get it all tuned. OH and I didnt read you setup. BUT ported box is the way to go man! Ateast it is my preferece. I like using PSP aero ports, easy to use and tune the box. But like I said, check out those forums, search for your sub, and you will be able to see what kind of boxes people are runing with that sub...

mob, i would worry about rms..... and i also have never seen only one input for a amp.....and like i said im not going to hate on your stuff, but visonik is :notnice: that amp looks like a guitar amp or something, did you tyr your bros amp.....?

No, I got it working guys. I didnt realize the sub was a DVC because it was already in the box from when my brother had taken it out of his car. I took the sub out and man what a wiring mess my brother and his friend did. It was wired at 4 ohm. So I just did all new wiring and wired it at 2 ohms. The amp actually isnt bad, the sound quality is fantastic, no noise, and the sub bumps even on the lowest gain, when I turn the gain up to half way it hits HARD, I didnt even turn it up all the way because there was no need. I am not trying to win a bass contest just want to have good sound quality so this amp will do. I am not sure if this amp is 2 ohm stable so I am just going to run it until it blows up or something, I have no complaints about this amp though other than the fact that you need a DVC or more than one sub (in which case it wouldnt have enough power to power both), but for my case its perfect. Thanks for the help guys.

told u not to worry bout RMS cause you would be pleased. I have an elemental designs nine.1 amp which pushes about 1300RMS around 13.4 volts( its underated), but most of the time I have it set around 40% gain. Someday ill get a nice sub, that can handle a good 800-1000RMS and really blast some tunes. Ive wanted an FI Q 10" sub for a little while now...
