I had this same problem not 2 weeks ago. Instead of bypassing the AC I just disconnected the electrical connection on the side of the compressor. This disengaged the clutch instead the compressor and allowed the pulley to spin freely.

As part of my runaway winter project I too removed my A/C and need this very thing....awsome man thanks.

by run-away...

pulled the intake to setup the valvetrain, then pulled the brackets off to get a better angle at that, then totaly removed them and got them powdercoated. While I was at it pulled the timing cover and water pump (noticed a little seepage-SP?- from the water pump bolts) and am repainting them to match the brackets now... started cleaning up the upper intake further and getting it powdercoated now too, while I was at it my condenser has a hole in it so I pulled the A/C stuff out...now that all that is out of the way I am going to re-paint the engine bay black, and re-paint my fox valve covers too :OT:
