Does the bar need to be bare metal before i can have it PC'ed??

I've sandblasted it down and have the ends down to bare metal and clean. However the center of the bar is still painted. It's difficult to get off. Does it need to be bare?

I think i will wrap the bar in rags soaked with brake fluid for a few days and see if that removes the paint...then sandblast it again.

I also think I am going to PC it Ford Blue instead of red.

Have you ever used "Aircraft Remover"? Stuff works great, you can either spray it or brush it on and the paint bubbles right off. I think there are a few different brand names that make it, and you can find it at an auto body store or a parts store.

Could a water pump be powder coated? I was curious since it would have some seals inside of it.

Aircraft Remover FTW! You can find it a Wal Mart too.

I had my buddy PC my intake because the factory grey PC got messed up. He said he tried sandblasting it for a long time and it didnt work, then he tried the Aircraft Remover and it factory PC cracked off right away.

Mansonozz did some powder coating for me and his prices and service were excellent. Also when he shipped the items they were very well packaged. I will use him again in the future as soon as i get the cash.

Wow this aircraft stripper is good stuff!!

Amazingly, the can has pictures of airplanes and calls it aircraft stripper...but the bottom warning label on the back says "DO NOT USE ON AIRPLANES"

Found it ironic
