Anyone out there running Magnapacks on their SN95????

Considering a side exit system, and I don't want to make a 180* to do it. We did a nice system on a 03 Mach 1 with 14" magnapacks, and it sounds outstanding. DIfferent car though. Just wondering if they sound good on the 5.0.

For those who don't know, I have BBK LTs, BBK O/R H, and currently a Mac Flowpath setup. I love the sound, but am thinking of side exit so I can do my Steeda 5 link...........

Thanks in advance all.................

i run maganpacks. there is a reason why they don't make them for 5.0s. they're loud as hell. sond great reving, hate the way they sound from about 2800 to about 3500.but up high they scream bloody murder. and will scare away alot of people. lol. oh and i run a mac o/r h pipe with them. as we speak i'll have bbk shorty headers with them in a cuple of days. and there some modification to get them to fit. no biggie, but i don't think the mod can be done without a lift. or it will be pretty hard to do.

From my understanding, Magnaflow now offers the Magnapack kit for 94-95's.

Thanks for the input. I don't really want a kit, I will do my own pipe bending. I just like the fact that I can use them as a side exit kit, and only have to make a 90* curve versus a 180* and then a 90* with a side kit.

We have a lift, thats easy. I was just worried about the sound. Loud I can deal with, raspy, not so much.

These things are nice and compact, and easy to hide in the body. My 5 link just won't fit well with the rear exit......

Well, my roommate has magnapacks on his 98 cobra with an O/R X and they sound great. But once again not on a 5.0L i am debating on getting those when my MAC rusts out. It has some rust now, but only time will tell here in CA it might last forever. I think they will sound good.

I hope so. Guess I will just have to find out. I think I am gonna order up the skirts this week. I need them on the car to do all the fab work on the pipes. Not sure what to do with my Mac stuff though. I might just keep it in case I really hate the new setup. Lets hope not though.

Next problem is I need the tips that go to the svo Skirts. Any ideas where to pick those up guys.....

Are you going to leave the SVO on the skirt? I saw some pics of a car a while back that had the SVO filled in and i thought it looked pretty damn good.

I may end up ordering the skirts from abc. I am not having any luck with any other skirts. I don't want fiberglass, and I don't want the kit that comes with all the ones for sale. I don't care if the SVO is on them or not.

Anyone know if the ABC kit will allow you to use the Spintech tips???

I want the spintech tips so I can maintain my SFCs.........

wow i didn't know that. i had mine for a little over 2 years, and they were for 96+.
are they still using the same muffler?
loud or raspy? i don't know what to call it. people will hear you from a far.

Pretty recent change I hear, like within the last year or so. It's still the same mufflers, just the hangers and whatever else are changed to fit our cars.

Loudtoy - I know there is someone around here who made a custom side exit exhaust using dynomax bullets, that may be a cheaper option for you. I'll see if I can find the thread for you.

i am working on doing the side exit on my 94 gt with a set of slp mufflers i bought from a friend. i am hope it sounds good, and the louder the better with this car.

I never even thought about SLP - Good call man. I will have to look into that as well. Those should fit nicely in the same location.

I had 'em with an off-road h. Definetly a ticket-getter here. Loud. Doesn't sound bad, but LOUD. Just got annoying. I mean it sounded like open headers under WOT. I'd find myself short-shifting and babying the throttle. Heaven forbid if I saw a cop....
Depends on what you want. If you want your friends to hear you from about 5 miles away, go for it. If you want to hear your stereo every now and then, then maybe not.
Yes, I'm old....
BTW, they were for a '96. I had no issues getting them installed, except for getting them to stop leaking at the joints. Band clamps were the solution....
