Anyone recommend 4:30's for a 02 gt/AUTO?

Guys rev their motors up to 6,500 rpms with the stock heads, cams, and block without any problems.

and there aer also people who have bent valves because the springs are weak. it's a crap shoot. just because some people haven't had a problem yet, doesn't mean it's safe.

The cams in the 99+ GT's still pull pretty hard up until 6200 rpms thus I recommend putting the rev-limiter there. It can be done without problems.

have you seen a stock dyno? the cams do not pull hard past 5500rpm unless you've got some serious work done.

What I mean is the car will still make decent power up until 6200rpms. I also agree that reving a motor to 6,500 rpms shouldnt be done. I was just stating the fact that people have done it before without probelms. Like you said though, that doesnt mean its safe.

Anyhow, Im doing 4.30 gears in my auto. I'll let you know my results when I get them installed. Hopefully in the next month, I'll have them in.

Do the programmers (superchp, hypertch, diablo) come with preset gear ratios or do u have to call them first to install the program? Can the timing be set to 14 degrees with the programmer like with a adjuster/steeda?

Did a search for my name, and found this....

I have 4.30's and a 3,000 PI Stallion in my car, can still pull 20+mpg's, and the car feels GREAT :D

Just a lil FYI for anyone thinking about what gear to get :)

As far as top speed goes, check the other thread ;)

Wow, you just topped off my cool list

There isn't much of a difference AT ALL between 4.30's and 4.10's. I know I HAD BOTH. There is MAYBE a 250-300 RPM difference almost all the way through the RPM's. That equals to insignificant MPG change, and slightly noticeable SOTP gains.

IF you want all you can get outta your street car, then why not?

6.14 my ass, get 6.14's top out at 50, and you'll still get your ass waxed :)
