i talked to the owner of a reputable shop to ask about having them install my gears an he is trying to tell me i will need a new carrier when switching from 3.08s to 4.30s, i dont really know what the carrier is but did anyone else replace this, he said it would cost me 200 bucks extra, i know people who did gear swaps and didnt replace this, does this sound familiar to anyone? also he wont let me buy all the materials and have them install it, he will only do it if he buys all the stuff, but then he wants to charge me a little over 700 bucks. this doesnt sound right to me.
