Anyone running 2.5" exhaust through a 65-66 GT style valence?

I originally was planning 3" but may just get 2.5" for simplicity. Anyone know of fitment issues running 2.5" pipes out the valence?

I have 2 1/2" pipe to the rear of the car and then added 3" chrome extensions through the GT holes. The driver's side tailpipe runs close to the fuel tank. I added a radius to the tank to create more clearance.

LOL, yeah, just a little.

I wanted to make sure I had at least 1/2" of clearance there.

I used a piece of 2" black pipe on its side and created a nice round crease along rear most side of the tank, near the GT opening. It was a really easy mod as the tank side offers little resistance.

Hey Cannonball, I work for Magnaflow and you will be better off going with the 2.5"

not that the 3" does not fit great which it does-

But I am running a supercharged 5.0 in my fastback and getting ready to do a head cam swap to put it somewhere in the neighbor hood of 450rwhp-

and I am sticking with 2.5"-

You have to be making some pretty serious power- over 500 rwhp (550-575 crank) to start looking at 3"

Question, on the magnaflow 2.5" exhaust is the inside diameter of the pipe 2.5" or outside, if it's the inside diameter of the pipe, what is the outside diameter?

I made an error on my previous post. These are 3.5" pipes. The exhaust is 2.5" however. Just wanted a different look for the rear.

So the SS Magnaflow system WILL fit a GT valance? I always saw the tips on those systems installed below the valance, not in it. If it fits, I'll buy one.

You'll have to get an exhaust shop to modify it for valence exit.
