I'm looking at cleaning up a stock small block. The current plan is to do a HCI on the cheap and see what I can get out of it. Planning on picking up some explorer gt40 heads/intake and am still looking for a bargain cam. Depending on the bores, I am only planning to re-ring and bearing the motor. Any experience with these cams?

I put one in my recent build. I have 1000 miles on it and it seems good.

What cam did you go with. Any problems or dyno results?

Trickflows nice, but looked into the price and it starts putting me outside my budget on the overall cost. I tried plotting the closest Summit cam and havent decided where I might go. If not, I will keep my eyes open for a good used bumpstick.

Does Summit make a roller cam? Or were you just going to use a flat tappet 351 cam?

Great point. I spoke with one of the Summit reps and stated that I wanted a roller, but I havent found any of them on their website. I have to find the paper I wote the part numbers down on, but I think I got some bad info on this one. Right now, one of the numbers (1791) sounds like one I wrote down and its listed as being a flat tappet cam. Looks like I need to start searching for a used cam to meet my budget. Do have a guy wanting to sell me an Z cam for $100, but I know the X requires some extra valve relief.
