I have been running a set of BBK long tube headers for about 16 months. While doing a brake job I happend to look under the car when It was in the air to see what they looked like. I must say I was rather pissed off to find the ceramic coating PEELING off the bottom half of the headers. There is rust in between the primary's (close to the collector), on the primarys ( about half way up) and around the collector. Has anyone else had a problem with these headers rusting??? Hell, I know people that have the chrome headers that dont look this bad! I doubt BBK will warranty them, but I might check anyways. I was just curious if anyone had a similar problem?

That sucks to hear about the rust on your headers..

But, not to be a jerk.. but what do you expect when the ground gets wet and you drive over it. Those are probably only inches away from the ground and are proned to get wet quite a bit. They oxidize and rust :(

Mine have been on for quite awhile and where I live there is often gravel on the roads, at any rate pretty much all of the ceramic coating on the bottom portion of my headers/collectors is gone and replaced with surface rust... I am pretty sure that over time this will happen to all headers...

any metal will rust given the right circumstances, regardless of coating etc.... & the fact that it's peeling sure isn't helping your case. try some naval jelly (sp?) next time you're under there & see if that'll take care of the rust

I was planning on getting those headers and getting them jet hot coated, but by the time i buy them and pay extra for the coating, i might as well pay the same amount for some Stainless Steel SLP LT's.....Damn these things are expensive :(

How bad is rust anyways? I just ordered as set of LT's chrome and I was planning on spraying flameproof spray on em and baking them but is rust on the outside anything more than just bad looks?
