Anyone running GT Competition leaf springs from Eaton?

I'm currently running 1 inch lowering springs from Eaton at a spring rate of 138 and I cannot get rid of my wheel hop even with slapper bars. I have been told it is because of the new angle everything is at because of the 1 inch lowering. (Rear end, pinion, drive shaft) So I was told to go with the GT Competition leaf springs at a spring rate of 110 and that should clear up the wheel hope because it now brings everything to the correct angle.

Any words of advice before I drop $300?

In my opinon, ditch that stuff, get the calvert mono leaf and cal tracs. Fastest leaf spring cars in the world cant be too far wrong.

I forgot about those. There also only about $50 more than the GT set up. I'll give them a call today.

I had bad wheel hop after I went from auto to manual. I put Maire Racings leaf springs in. They are 5 leaf, but 1 main leaf that run from the front to back shackle, the other 4 leafs are all from the axel to front mounting point to resist spring wrap.

The springs alone got rid of 100% of my wheel hop.



I got the 165 mid eyes running with KYB gas adjusts. I was scared they were going to make a harsh ride but its actually quit nice.

OK so I just spoke to Calvert and they did NOT recommend their Mono Leaf. They said keep what I currently have and add in their CalTracs. Now I have something else to consider.

Thats good. Did they say why they didnt think the mono leaf was a good option? Just curious.

He felt it would resolve my issue where the Mono Leaf may have not by itself. They just felt that it would be a better fit for my application.

Ahh, i see. Thats why i think i said buy the springs and cal tracs.. But i know how money goes. Im only about 3 months past when i thought id have my 65 running. But i think im only 2 pay checks away now..lol

I have their mono leafs and traction devices. The traction is nothing short of amazing versus the stock suspension in my other Mustang.

Well I spoke to them again and we talked about my tire size and how the lower profile may also be affecting my wheel hop. I'm running 225/50/R15's. My dad has a set of 235/60/R15 drag radials. I'm going to throw them on and see if it's the tires that are the issue.

Well I threw on my Dad's 235/60/R15's drag radials and the wheel hop stopped. However by increasing the wheel height by 2+ inches I also lowered the gear ratio at the rear. I also noticed a slight decrease in performance on the speed the car takes off. So did the wheel hop stop because of the tires or the decrease in performance.

I'll have to get to the track and compare my 60 foot times and overall 1/4 mile times to find out.

I will post my findings.

could be the extra side wall height is dampening out the wheel hop.

And im sure that the increase in rotational weight also effected things.
