Anyone running torque box reinforcements w/ ABS?

I just bought some torque box reinforcements on ebay for cheap....don't know exactly why since I dont dragrace. But I thought it couldent hurt since my car sees open track events several times a year. Anyways, anyone find a nice clean way to relocate the rear ABS wires? I was thinking about taking a hole saw and cutting holes in the plates where the factory abs hole is. But I figure that may weaken the reinforcements...any other suggestions?

Just my opinion, go ahead and do it. If you weld around the hold after you drill it, it should not weaken it too much. It would be better and stronger than not doing it.

If I remember correctly, when I put my boxes in, there was still enough room to allow the wires to pass through. Using the hole that ford cut in the floor. The rubber grommet could not be used. My boxes were from wild rides if it makes a difference. The biggest pain was having to cut the torque box and bend it to get reinforcements in place.

Yea mine are from some west coast mustang shop laurel mountain mustangs or something like that and so they may be diff. from yours. I was thing the abs hole would line up with the center of the plate and I would just take a hole saw to everything but that may not be the case heh. I guess well see...btw what did you use to cut the sheetmetal down there, I'm wondering if my dremel w/ a cutoff wheel would be enough...or should I just take it somewhere and have the cutting done?

I guess I should have just welded up the torque boxes....that would prolly be fine for my application...but I bought the stuff so I'll put it on.

The torque boxes a deffinately a good idea. You might not necessarily need them now, but down the road you might. I've more than a few street cars that severely damaged the stock torque boxes. I used a cut off wheel. After the install bend the metal back and weld the cuts.

I have the UPR lower trq box rein. and had no issue with the abs line. The issue was the size of the hole, I had to cut and bend the hole out bigger and like someone else posted bend them back in place (about 1/4in around the stock hole). I need to weld them so they dont look so tore up.
