When my engine was basically stock I ran the hoses in question for a few years, along with a little bling. I was into that sort of thing.

However last year I decided add some POWA and clean things up a bit

Very sorry about the hijack guys- How do you like the Scott Rod radiator cover piece? I'm looking at buying one but have heard about fitment and alignment issues.

And I am also not a fan of the blue silicone radiator hoses. Either black or chrome are my taste but I tend to be a bling bling person. It keeps me busy polishing and out of trouble.

Actually blue just happened to be the colour of silicone Goodyear made the hoses out of at the time. They just ended up on the SSP cars because they needed silicone hoses. If silicone hoses came in other colours back then, I'm sure the SSP cars could have ended up with them too.

I was of driving age when they came out and saw them in the Ford Performance catalog, whatever it used to be called. I thougt they were strange looking at the time, but I think they would be cool on the pictured motor.

IIRC, the silicone hoses were not really a needed improvement over the durability of regular Goodyear Rubber hoses. But I would really like to get a set for the air injection hoses near the headers!
