Anyone use ES12a or other hydrocarbon based refrigerants?

i have never heard of this refrigerant, do you have a link to the companies website? also i would check the EPA list of approved refrigerants and see if it is on the list. as for the oil, it would likely use the same oil as R134a does.

edit: ok i looked up this refrigerant and found out that it is sold as freeze12. according to the website it is approved by the EPA, but you need to use the R134a charge ports, and you will need to use the same oil as R134a. thus you will have to flush your current system, change the receiver/dryer, and then you can install the new refrigerant. understand that you dont need as much freeze12 as you would the others, so be careful not to overcharge the system.

i use Freeze-12 in all my old R-12 cars and it works very well, about as well as R-12 does in the same cars. and it costs about the same as 134a too.
