I was just wondering if anyone was using Mustangs Plus remote shifter handle. I need to move my shifter back so that it is not so far away from me and I think their kit might do the trick. The only things that give me pause are the fact that I like the shifter I've got now and the price of the kit. Could I make something like that from scratch?

I bought one but have not installed it yet. I will be using it on a t 56 6 speed and will use a B & M Ripper shifter which has the all important shifter stops. I have "mocked" it up and I know as long as it does as it should I am going to love it. It is very well made and appears to be built REALLY stout, my only concern is that I have a center console so there will be some cutting. It puts the shifter back in your hand where you can drive more relaxed.

I will be using one myself when I get around to my t5 conversion...but I'll be making a custom console to house it since it looks so awful, as for making something similar from scratch, I am sure you could, it looks to be pretty simple but it would take some time to do so

I have one, I've been meaning to post this up for a while. I installed mine, it looked like it was going to work out nice, but when I tightened down the two bolts that hold it to the shifter handle it got extremely tight and stiff. It required a lot of effort to switch gears. Thought it might need to be worked in but I worked up a sweat abd my arm got tired trying to break it in. No way a girl could use it. I would like to use this thing because I paid a lot for it, I like the idea, and I kinda like the way it looks. Anyone know what the problem is?

tyler, could you add in some nylon bushings (you can get them at any hardware store or lowes)? I can see where you would have an issue with the shifter cross arm needing to be tight with no slop on either end, but also needing to be smooth.

you loosened these two?

I bought a Hurst stick that came close to my needs and then repositioned it by cutting and welding the mounting flange. It worked out nicely and the chrome stick with white ball 5 speed knob looks really nice. If the Hurst people hadn't been so clumsy to scratch the knob before putting it in the plastic, it would have been even better....

Hurst offers many sticks, to be found on the Mr Gasket site.

I have a Ripper and NEED that handle. i have monkey arms, so the reach isnt bad into 5th, but with the 5 point harnesses on, i cant lean forward.
I had it made at a CNC shop and I have a couple more -- it says REEN on the side. :)

I am planning on selling them in the future, but don't have the final version yet. Perhaps I can help you out though. Let me know.
