Okay about 2-3 weeks ago someone purposely hit my car in the parking lot of my work (no i dont know who did it). long story short it cost me $500 to fix it. I am looking for an alarm that will have like a pager system to tell me what part of the car is being set off. Anyone with any suggestions/comments on a good alarm whether it is a bad alarm you installed and dislike or whether you love it please post. Thanks.

paging alarms only tell you if your door sensors are tripped, or if your glass is broken etc.

i am not familiar with alarms because i dont have one, but dei makes alot of good ones.

this is incorrect, you can add different sensors such as a shock for a impact, or motion so incase someone is jacking your car up or towing it,perimeter sensor that sences a "field" around the car.

Most pagers are the same but DEI has the market right now.

try www.compustar.org. the best systems on the market. Lifetime warranty. up to 1.25 mile range.
In my opinion, DEI sucks.

What makes these the best on the market???And whats the point of a pager with a range of 1.25 miles???If your that far away from your car you might as well forget about it

+1 I don't have one, but a friend of mine has it and it's pretty good.

I own a Viper 2-way system and I bought it because they are the best. Where I work we also sell Compustar, which are a good system but not like a Viper. The Comp's do offer more range but remember that the distance ratings from everyone but Viper are MAXIMUM distance(like peak power on an amp-not a realistic number) So the Comp will get about 2000-2500 feet(maybe half a mile) in town and more if you live on a farm with nothing to cause interference. Viper gives a legit 1300 feet range in town(with proper install).
The Viper shows impact and door sensor independantly. I have my trunk and DEI glass sensor wired to different zones so when they are tripped it will tell me exactly which zone it was.
Also Viper has the loudest(130db) and smallest siren on the market plus their shock sensor is a patented design that nobody else has.

This is a perfect time for a thread like this. i have no power door, or trunk locks. So, I just put a down payment on an "Ungo" 2 way alarm system, 2 car door actuators, and a trunk actuator. Costs me a total of $615. I doesn't have the remote start. I don't trust them. I heard "Ungo" has DEI components and are very good systems. A good friend has been in the business for a long time. I trust his opinion.

Ungo has nothing to do with DEI,but Ungo is owned by Clarion,IMO i think $615 for a non remote start alarm is high,i sell the Viper 791 for way less and could include the door actuators and still be under that price, just my $.02

I see no reason for a two way alarm, I installed the clifford concept 600 in my 95 gt and in my opinion its the best alarm there is. It comes with black jack (anti-car jacking w/ignition and acc cutoff), dual perimiter motion sensors, omni, peizo, and shock sensors, automatic headlights, auto window rollup, and its expandable so you can add more too it.

Clifford was bought out by Viper 2 years ago. There's alot of shared technology, but not everything is the same.
