just find a car on autotrader or cars.com with a carfax report. it has to be same model an year. click on the link for carfax. then delete the vin on the adress bar an put yours in. = you gettin free carfax report

I thought I was going to start a 331 build but I'm thinking more and more that I need another car. One to drive and one to play with. So, I've had my mind set on an 89 gt, finding a 96-98 cobra, or a 67 (because I was forced to sell the 67 coupe I had). Even thinking about a newer 2000-2001 saleen or going all out for a 03 cobra. But I think I rather have a sweet 5.0, no monthly payments and stick with my low insurance. A co worker has an all stock, mint 67-ivy gold, auto 289. He wants 8500 for it, Ive seen ones in the same condition going for close to 10k so its not too bad. But its all stock and an auto. I think I would have more fun with an 89 with a 331 or 408
Anyways, the 89 GT is pretty nice. Same color as my 93 which is the reef blue with silver bottom. Guy says it has a clean title, but I wanted to get a carfax to make sure. Car has supposely 80k miles on it, but I think it rolled over- not sure. It has a new clutch, batt and starter, flywheel, lower springs, new struts, bbk headers, cold air, body straight, good paint, h pipe.

^ what do you think of that report? So, if it doesn't say salvage title anywhere it should be clean? He did mention that he bought the car with a loan and something about the bank having the pink slip until its paid, does this sound legit?? He's asking 3400/obo for it. Of course Im going to go as low as possible.

That just means he has a car loan out for it. I "own" my Audi this way. You take a loan out and until it's paid you don't get the title. Now if he owes less than $3400, you go with him to the bank, pay him the money and the title is handed over to you. If he owes more than $3400 I'd make sure he intends to pay the difference. Not sure how that would work, but I would be leary on that one.
That car has been through a few owners, and a respossession. Now thats not to say it's a bad car, as most Mustangs have had long lives. I would say look the car over.
