Hey guys, i did a search and couldn't come up with an answer to my question so hopefully one of you will be able to help.

I've got a set of hood pins on my hood right now that was on there when i bought the car, the problem is they aren't stainless steel and are starting to rust. I've been looking at the Ford Racing hood pins, but before i buy them i wanted to make sure they will be the same size as the ones i will be replacing. If anyone can point me to a site with the dimensions of them, or better yet measure the diameter of your own, i would really apprecaite it.

The pin itself is about the size of your index finger. I have a set of the FRPP, but don't have it with me right now...

sorry i guess i should have been more specific, the dimensions i need are of the "scuff plate," that is screwed into the hood. I need to make sure they will be the same size as the ones i am replacing. Thanks for the response though.

Scuff plate is about 3 inches in diameter, if I recall correctly. I'll measure mine tonight when I get home to be exact.

Just an oftopic type question...ca you adjust where the pins latch? Say your fiber glass hood sets about 3/4 of an inch high on one side, but is easily pushed down to flush with the fenders....could you adjust the pins to hold it down when you pin them? Or are they set only in one spot?

Sounds like you have the same problem as i do. My carbon fiber hood sits about 1/2 inch higher on one side and just towards the front and it pushes down easily also. I bought the Steeda captive hood pins so i dont have to worry about somebody stealing them like you could with the FRPP. I'll let you know when i install them this weekend if it works.

At least with the FRPP pins, yes. The pins themselves have screw threads (and accompanying nuts) so they can be raised and lowered as needed.

what i ended up doing was putting some big washers under the hood, and just added as many as i needed to make it fit flush. kind of ghetto but it worked.

so, anybody had a chance to measure yet?

Beat me to the punch...I measured mine as well, and yep, 2.5" in diameter (with 7/8" hole in the middle).
