good stuff. you didnt even get into the good stuff though. taking the shafts out and replacing the blocking rings and inserts and stuff. but i guess if you dont need to than its just a waste of money.

No, thats what i paid the tranny guy to do.... you can see all of my synchros still have the new black coating on them.. i bought the hanlon block & ring kit last year when he rebuilt it, but i havent put this tranny in a car since he rebuilt it, so i just wanted to make sure there was no bad corrosion or anything inside.

I promise when (not if) i break this one, ill be getting a good replacement. i wont be going through 10 t-5's before i get a decent one. so hopefully this is the only time ill have it this far apart

I have a wierd question... When you guys took your tailshaft apart, did any of you notice if the bolt that holds the speedo gear goes all the way through the case, or does it stop at the bottom. The reason im asking is the guy that helped me take the motor and tranny out initially (3 years ago) broke off the bolt that holds the speedo gear in. i cant tell if i easy-out'd the whole bolt out or if i went too far in the case... sounds wierd, i know, but im going to take it and get it tapped for a new bolt, but i didnt know if the bolt was supposed to go all the way through or not
