anyway around phone contracts?

Im ****in sick of verizon cause i only have 450 minuets and 500 text and im still paying over 55 a month. I want someone that has unlitmited text but i have to wait till september. Is there anyway around the contracts without paying the 200+ to cancel?

I know with some carrier's the following works...

- Tell them you're going on a military deployment for over two years (oversea's, Iraq, or anything ending with "stan").

- Call in as your father/wife/mother/girlfriend/boyfriend ect. and sadly explain that the account holder has passed away. A lot of mobile phone carriers will not ask for proof of death. Imagine what kind of customer care call that would be.

- Find out what Verizon's no coverage area's are. Good chance that they will cancel your contract and waive an early term. fee, if you happen to "no longer live in a coverage area". Of course, there is the chance they may request your new "out of coverage area address" to confirm you live outside of the area and will send a bill to that new address. That's where a good friend in one of those area's comes in handy.

Cingular is 15 cents a text after january if you dont have like a text plan on your account. i just read that on my bill today.

yeah id love to get cingular. but all my friends have verizon so id be screwing them over.

Verizon rapes me every month....
i have two phones 1400 minutes 500 text... everything is suppose to cost me around $80-90 a month but the bill always comes for $140+ for some miscellaneous thing nobody can explain to me clearly... and that’s with a discount thru my job.
Any suggestions as to what povider to go with after my contract ends in june?

i have verizon unlimited text is only 15.00 for me but im a huge texter. last phone bill before i got this was 125.00 for just my phone lol.

just my .002 but squeeky wheel gets the oil....just call and complain and tell them you want to cancel and complain and ask to talk to a manager and then when they say no ask to talkt o their manager and if they say no keep moving up the chain..some one will wave the 200$ cancellation fee for you. I work for a cell phone carrier and people do it everyday. Im not in customer service but I know alot of people who are..complaining works....
