AOD and AODE

Is the AOD and AODE the same size? I wanna replace my AODe with an AOD but i'm hoping i wont have to replace the driveshaft and refit a new cross member....

The bellhousing on the AODE/4R70W's is 1in deeper, other than that they are externally the same.
DS 1in shorter & Tranny mount to accomodate.

Why are you 'downgrading'?

You can also get an AOD rebuilt into an AODe case and then you can use the taller first gear too

Did you get any comparitive times, on your, car stock AOD gears vs wide ratio gear set??

I've always had the 2.85 first gear (wide ratio) and 4.11 so no I do not have any comparative times.
