Okay, I've put an AOD in my car with the 306. We had to custom make a throttle bracket, and we also made it hold the tranny cable. How do you adjust/tune these? Should it be mounted somewhere specific? A specific distance? Right now it holds in some gears too long. Anything will help! Thanks!

Cable?

What cable did you use? You want this set right or you will burn up your trans. You may also need an adaptor for that Holley because it does not have the correct geometry. If it is holding the shifts to long that is better than shifting to soon. Let me know what cable you have and I might be able to help you.

The correct way is to set it using a pressure guage. You should be able to find instructions at either Lokar, Art Carr, or Windsor-Fox. Unfortunately, I just don't have access to my Lokar instructions right now. :(

Also, just to be clear, you want to mount the cable so that the cable moves an equal amount to the throttle. Try to mount it an equal distance from the center pivot as the throttle cable.

Hope this helps...
